Periodically, the University of Maryland basketball team will play at the XFINITY Center, which will result in parking modifications. This year, 19home games are scheduled.
For both conference and non-conference games, these lots are closed four hours prior to tipoff and require a game day permit or Faculty/Staff UID to enter. Individuals who are attempting to enter these lots without a Faculty/Staff UID or a game day permit will be redirected to Lot 1. Those who are directed to park in Lot 1 for the game must relocate their vehicles out of Lot 1 by the next weekday at 7:00 a.m. if they do not possess a Lot 1 parking permit.
NOTE: parking regulations may change for individual games. Permit holders will be notified of such changes via email in advance.
Vehicle relocation is NOT required for non-conference games. However, the affected basketball lots are closed four hours prior to tip off until one hour after tip off. Students and visitors who attempt to park in basketball lots during the closed times will be redirected to park in Lot 1. The affected lots can be accessed one hour after tip off.
Only faculty and staff who present their UID or those with game day permits may enter the lot during the closed times.
All basketball lots will be closed four hours prior to tipoff and require a game day permit or faculty/staff UID to enter.
Individuals parked in Lots 4b, 6 (Terrapin Trail Garage), 9b and 11b MUST move their vehicles three hours prior to tipoff. Vehicles that are not relocated will be cited and relocated. Parking will be available to registrants in Lot 1. Faculty and Staff are not required to relocate and may access these lots by showing their UID.
If you have an academic conflict that affects your ability to move your car on a specific game day, you must bring your schedule to the DOTS office in Regents Drive Garage prior to the day of the game so that accommodations can be made. Exceptions will not be made the day of the game or any time after the game.
The Graduate Student Government offers a limited number of Game Day Permits to graduate students. Game Day Permits are available for basketball games only. Please contact your GSG representative for more information about these permits.
While vehicle relocation is not required for the above permit holders, the basketball lots are still restricted 4 hours prior to tip off until one hour after tip off. Registrants in these lots attempting to park in their lots within four hours before until one hour after tip off will be redirected to Lot 1.
Faculty and staff may continue to access basketball lots during home games by showing their UID to lot attendants.
