In concert with the diversity objectives established by the University of Maryland, College Park, the Department of Transportation Services strives to manifest an inclusive, respectful and supportive community.
We promote awareness and initiate professional development through recognition, understanding and advocacy of multicultural issues. We seek to promote ongoing staff development opportunities that expand awareness and increase knowledge of diversity issues. Through diversity programs and trainings offered to our staff, we strive to improve the department’s climate surrounding issues of diversity and also to emphasize high quality customer interactions across cultural boundaries and issues of difference. We also work with the Human Resources Manager, Training & Development Manager and Office of Human Relations Code to ensure DOTS is compliant with policy and procedures on sexual harassment, the American’s with Disabilities Act and University Human Relations Code.
